On the 9th of October 2018, Project Partner 2, Jimbolia held the Final Conference of the project: Tour de Banat, TdB financed by the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Romania – Serbia.
The event was moderated by Roxana Zabercă, cross-border assistant for the Municipality of Jimbolia, who welcomed the representatives of the lead beneficiary – Nova Crnja, Serbia and those of Project Partner 3 – RDA BANAT, Serbia.
The conference was opened by Darius-Adrian POSTELNICU, the mayor of the Municipality of Jimbolia, who told the audience that the three partners – Nova Crnja, Banat Regional Socio-Economic Development Agency of Serbia and Jimbolia, Romania had joined to implement this project thanks to a common idea: the development of cyclo-tourism in the cross-border region. He concluded that at the end of the project, we could say that the objectives had been fully achieved, the activities were undertaken and the infrastructures realized during the project, serves entirely the original purpose, that of developing the cyclotourism in the region. In his opinion, all the events organized within the project were treated with the utmost seriosness, and this is reflected in the results.
He expressed his conviction that in the future we would deepen and continue the cooperation between the partners involved in the project by further promoting cycling, not only through the annual organization of CycloFest, but also by a future project through which Jimbolia and Nova Crnja aim to build bicycle tracks that will link the two countries.
Dejan Panić, the deputy mayor of Nova Crnja after greeting the attendants went on to speak about the rehabilitated objective, informing the audience that the building belonged to the castle and since 1943 nobody invested in it. Therefore, this prject has special importance, even a historical one. He said that to them Jimbolia is their second home and although many do not speak Romanian they understand each other perfectly – which is a legacy from our predecessors. He asserted that a campaign will follow to bring tourists in the cross-border region, already had been taken some steps in that direction and he expressed his intention to organize a convention on cyclo-tourism in Jimbolia. He concluded that the end of the project means another dimension of cooperation among the project partners.
Next, Mister Branislav Milosav, Activity Coordinator greeted the audience on RDA Banat behalf and said that he was glad to be among the mayors and deputy mayors of the two localities involved in the project, who despite the budgetary pressures they felt, they still recognized the importance and the possibilities of absorbing European money. Both localities had been implementing european projects and I congratulate them for this, because I know how much effort requires the preparation, submission and the implementation of a project. He told them that RDA BANAT Serbia would assist them in the future as well.
He informes the audience that the project started the previous year with a common vision: that of contributing to the development of the cyclotourism in the region and taking a look on the results he can assert that the common goal was reached. Mister Branislav thanked the mayors and deputy mayors for their support and the management team for their commitment. He thanked the Interreg-Ipa Programme and the STC for recognizing the improtance of the project and for their support in the process of the implementation.

In the end two films were shown: the promotional movie:”Tour de Banat” realized by our Serbian partners and a short film created by TV Jimbolia.
