This year, in July, the realisation of „Tour de Banat“ project started, financed by IPA Program of cross-border cooperation between Romania and Serbia. The project has gathered three partners, the municipality of Nova Crnja as the project leader, the municipality of Jimbolia (Romania) and the Regional center for socio – economic development of Banat, as partners, having the same idea to contribute to the sustainable economic development of the region, through strengthening and promotion of cross-border tourist offer and creation of conditions for cyclotourism development.

One of the main preconditions for development of this kind of tourism is the appropriate infrastructure and the institutional support, therefore as the part of the project, the first Regional center for development of cyclotourism in Serbia “Tour de Banat” will be established, with its seat in Srpska Crnja, as well as the Tourist stop for cyclists in Jimbolia. This project also covers the development of interactive tourist web portal and mobile application, which will provide information about new cycling tours within the project to all cyclists who want to visit this region, as well as all tourist locations and attractions within the project. A part of the project will deal with the establishment of the broad cross-border net of tourist subjects from all three sectors, as well as with strengthening the capacities for offering high-quality tourist services. With all considered activities, this project will contribute to the establishment of the sustainable capacity for cyclotourism development in the cross-border region. The integrated pack of tools and services, developed within the project, will make this region more attractive and visible and it will be positioned on the European map of EuroVelo cycling corridors.

With the aim to present this project, its activities and expected results, the starting “Tour de Banat” project conference will be held on October 10, 2017 at 11 am in Srpska Crnja, where the representatives of all the three project partners will address the audience.

The total value of the project is 535.933,01 EUR, while the realisation period is: July 2017 – October 2018.
